Death animations!

Hi! A long time without an update but I finally have a few days to work on my game. It's not like I didn't spend any time on it during the last month - I took any free time I could to make some awesome death animations. Ragdolls are awesome but blending them with a death animation is even more awesome! I started implementing a death animation system yesterday's evening. Here's a small preview of the system in work:

Currently it works like this: a character can go instantly to ragdoll OR play a death animation that transits into ragdoll at the end. It can be also interrupted after you shoot him again.
The animation is decided by character state, bullets direction and caliber.
There are some strange problems that I have to addres but my hopes are high.
The next step will be much cooler.

Its rag doll physics based? I love a good rag doll physics shooting game.

Can you make the bodies not disappear when they die? i like it that way.

well you can see the ragdolls in the video. bodies have to disappear because after a while the flash player would choke. game is set to release at the end of july, cheers.

This is looking like it's going to be incredibly awesome once you finish it, I hope the actual game is as good as the teasers you keep giving us, because if it is, it's going to be absolutely awesome.

ow, nice! what kind of voice to you have? you can record some death screams (subtle) and combat taunts like 'reloading' 'die motherfucker' etc :)

Actually even though the bodies wont disappear,on some games it does not lag.
like make the corpse a background after they die.Try Find a way. it looks better and more realistic that way. When i play METAL SLUG. u know? the popular arcade shooter. i only care about the death animations. but i was expecting them to not disappear. they just glow out and disappear. hope your game makes it up to the top. and cheers to you too.

i like it when bodies don't disappear too. but the case here is:2d+ it's flash and vector gfx + it's real physics. So if a body falls and then gets transformed into a back ground element the player would want to shoot it etc but it wouldn't work. Also with leaving those bodies (their gfx are big)in a limited area of 2d the player would stop seeing the level - only a mess of bodies. Bodies have to disappear after a some time.

I want to voice out too. I really got a low voice as a kid. But How can i record my voice that is able to share? Oh and how can i send it to you?e-mail?
Ill be expecting to play the game soon. It looks awesome.Can you try to make a video without seeing the inner look but the finished one or a beta look of it.

Oh come on, not a single thing vanishes in Weasels games and they work fine. Just don't make the bodies pile up on one another.

P.S. When are you going to implement enemy AI.

when all engine features are implemented and the first level is done.

Will you be adding suits to them so they will look better? i think so, also blood stains on walls and floors would be awesome to, if im only make this harder for you then you dont need to do this, just a suggestion.

of course, look at intruder returns and those are the graphics you can expect. i would like to add blood on walls but i'll have to see how it works out.

If the deadline is in July, and your still doing the engine, than your must be able to make levels pretty fast.

the levels are already designed, they just need an editor and all the gfx.

are you sure thath you dont trace your draws in ANY image?? because theyre awesome!!!

i don't think i understand the question? do i trace in game gfx from my drawings? sometimes, i always trace the guns so they are 1:1

Wait... at about 10 seconds into the video the dude falls on the gun Which gave me an idea, If there could be an option to switch to just 'Hands' and go up to a dead corpse and press and hold to lift it to like get it of stuff or use it as a human shield or something like that.
